Filmora - Method to Design a YouTube Thumbnail Image
For the best YouTube thumbnail size, click File, then Project Settings. Select the resolution of 1280x720 pixels.
Import a photo from your computer or click Stock Media tab to download a stock image.
Drag the image on timeline. In preview (Player) window, adjust the size and position of the image.
On Basic tab, you can Auto Enhance the image quality.
Take some text from Titles tab or 3D text from Text tool. Click the text and under Titles panel on right-side window, replace the default text with your own.
Adjust the size, style, color, font and position of the text.
In Editor Window or in Advanced window, you should increase letter spacing for more clarity of text and Apply changes.
If you wish, you can add some other image or text on thumbnail.
Now our thumbnail is ready. Before downloading, select Full as playback quality.
Through the button under Player window, you can preview the thumbnail in full screen.
Now click the camera icon to download the thumbnail in computer. Select the image format and save location.
Please remember that after saving thumbnail image, click File, then Project Settings and restore the original resolution of pixels.
