Filmora Method to Blur Part of Video - Blur Multiple Moving Faces

Third BLUR method in this section is the most effective.

I will blur the face of a person in this guide using Filmora latest version.

Watch Video Tutorial.

Filmora how to blur part of a video - blur a moving object in Filmora.

Blur through Mosaic Effect

Click the Effects tab and search for Mosaic. Drag it over your video and choose its duration.

Now click on the effect to open its editing options on the right panel Editor Window. Adjust its Blur amount and opacity. Click the blur effect in preview and adjust its size and position.

Mosaic effect will not move the blur with moving background.

Blur through Face-off Effect

Therefore, remove the previous mosaic effect. As second method, search Face-off in Effects tab. Drag the Face-off blur effect over video clip and set its duration.

Playback the video. You can see that blur moves with the background face, but it has applied blur to all faces in the video. Also it is not so effective. So delete it.

Blur through Motion Tracking

To solve this, let me show the most effective third method.

Blur photo to blur a face.

Use this image to blur a moving face by reducing its opacity.

Import a suitable image from your computer or from Stock Media tab. A transparent and round image with plain green color or with some dots might be most suitable to create blur.

Drag the image over video clip and set its duration. Click the image in Preview window and adjust its size and position to fit over the face.

On the right-side panel, you can mask the image, but it is not necessary.

Now under Basic tab, move the slider to adjust its Blur or Opacity value.

As you playback, the blur image does not move with the face to cover it.

For that, move the Playhead and again adjust the blur image over face. Now click on the background video clip in timeline, and select AI Tools in Right Panel. Here turn ON the Motion Tracking.

Adjust the size of Motion Tracking box in Preview. Now click to start Motion Tracking.

Now look for name of the image in timeline - it is the file name of image. Under Motion Tracking, select the same name of image to link it.

You are all done. Play it and you can see that it has perfectly blurred the moving background face. If you wish you can further adjust the opacity of image in editor window on right.

Following are two blur background images. Download any image to blur face of a person in your video. You can use transparency in your video editor to control the blur intensity.
