Enable Auto Save Password in Google Chrome when Not Asked

Google Chrome automatically offers you to save password for a website account when you enter your personal information in a login form for that website.

However, if that pop-up for saving password does not appear in browser, follow these steps.

Prompt Chrome to Save Password for a Website

Simply look for a β€˜key’ symbol in address bar of browser, select it and click β€˜Save’ to save password for that website.

You can also try deleting and re-entering the details in form on a website to trigger Chrome for offering you to save the password.

Enable Auto Save Password in Google Chrome

You can also manually save a password by clicking Add button here. Settings β†’ Autofill β†’ Passwords.

In Chrome settings, you can edit or remove an already saved password for a website in β€˜Password Manager’ of Chrome.

Allow or Disallow Chrome Browser to Save Passwords

It is up to your own decision whether to allow browser to save your passwords or not. If you want Chrome browser to save your passwords, then next to β€˜Offer to save passwords’ option, turn ON the toggle button. In this case, whenever you will enter a new password on a website, a prompt will appear asking you to save the password. However, if you don’t want Chrome browser to send prompts for saving passwords, then you can turn the toggle button OFF.

Your passwords are more secure in Chrome browser than manually typing your passwords each time because during manual typing, your keyboard may be in control of someone with bad intentions.

Manually Save a Password in Chrome

If above methods does not work, then you may add a password in Chrome through manual method.

Open β€˜Password Manager’ in Google Chrome.

Click β€˜Add’ button.

For example, if you want to password for a new Google account, then enter β€˜accounts.google.com’ under Site field, and your email (john@gmail.com) address in the Username field.

Similarly, to save a new password for your Facebook account, enter β€˜www.facebook.com’ under Site field, and your email (john@gmail.com) address in the Username field, and of course type your password in the β€˜Password’ field.
