  • Continuous Capitalization (Latin letters) / Shifted Malayalam Characters: To type continuously in shifted mode, press the Caps Lock key. Press it again to turn it off. This will primarily affect Latin characters on symbol keys, and for Malayalam characters, it will keep the "Shifted" layer active.

• Conjuncts (കൂട്ടക്ഷരങ്ങൾ): To form conjunct consonants (e.g., ക്ഷ from ക + ് + ഷ), you will type the first consonant, then the virama (്) key (mapped to \ on the keyboard), followed by the second consonant. The browser's text rendering engine will usually combine them automatically.

  • Example: Type ക then ് then ഷ to get ക്ഷ.

• Dependent Vowel Signs (സ്വരചിഹ്നങ്ങൾ): To add dependent vowel signs (matras) to a consonant, first type the consonant, then type the corresponding vowel (e.g., a for അ, aa for ആ). The vowel will combine with the consonant.

  • Example: Type ക then ാ (typed by Shift + a) to get കാ.

• Anusvara (ം) and Visarga (ഃ): These are available on specific keys as indicated in the layout (e.g., m + Shift for ം, h + Shift for ഃ).

2. Symbols and Numbers

• Numbers: Numbers are located on the top row. Both Western (1, 2, 3...) and Malayalam (൧, ൨, ൩...) digits are available, with Malayalam digits as the default for 1-0 keys, and Western digits often available on Shift.

• Symbols:

  • Common symbols (e.g., ` , !, @, #, etc.) can be accessed by a simple click or by holding the Shift key as indicated on the keys.

  • The Malayalam Danda (।), which acts as a full stop, is mapped to । in its normal state on the bottom row. The colon : is available on Shift.

3. Special Action Buttons

The top rows of the keyboard include tools for working with your text:

• Undo: Cancels your last action.

• Redo: Reapplies an undone action.

• Copy: Copies the selected text, or all text if nothing is selected.

• Delete: Deletes the character before the cursor or the selected text.

• Click the 🎤 (Mic) button to enable/disable voice typing.

• When active, you will see a "Listening... Please speak now." message above the keyboard. Please speak clearly for your voice to be converted into text.

• If voice typing is not supported or microphone access is denied, you will see a relevant message.

• Voice typing will automatically stop if you press any key on the keyboard or click outside the input field.

7. Physical Keyboard Synchronization

This virtual keyboard will synchronize with your physical keyboard. If you use the Shift or Caps Lock keys on your physical keyboard, the characters on the virtual keyboard will change accordingly.
