User Guide to the Quick Cangjie (Cantonese Voice Input)/English Virtual Keyboard (廣東話快倉鍵盤,支援語音輸入、英文打字、翻譯,使用繁體中文,專為香港用戶設計)
Welcome to the free Cantonese Online Keyboard by Dozro! This guide will walk you through all the features of our dual-language virtual keyboard (廣東話快倉鍵盤), designed to make typing in both English and Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong simple and efficient. This keyboard uses the Quick Cangjie (速成輸入法) input method, one of the most popular shape-based systems for typing Traditional Chinese characters. This is a complete Cantonese keyboard (廣東話鍵盤) solution for all your needs. This keyboard includes character variants from both simplified and traditional Chinese, such as 尧 and 尭, or 豬 and 猪. It also includes rare and extended Unicode traditional Chinese characters, as well as CJK ideographs.
Type faster with the Cantonese Quick Cangjie Keyboard – 倉頡輸入法・快速倉頡 – featuring microphone voice typing, an English dual keyboard, and HK‑optimized 倉頡輸入法 for smooth, accurate input. This keyboard is specifically designed for the people of Hong Kong to ensure accurate speech recognition for voice typing in Cantonese accent. It is also suitable for users in Guangzhou, Guangxi, Taiwan, Macau, and Chinese communities in Canada and Malaysia.
What is Quick Cangjie? 快倉頡是什麼?
Quick Cangjie, known as Simplified Cangjie (速成, also known as 簡易) is a stroke‑based Chinese input method (中文輸入法) derived from the full Cangjie system (倉頡輸入法), but simplified for easier learning and faster adoption in everyday use. Instead of typing the complete sequence of Cangjie radicals for each character, users enter only the first and last keystrokes of its Cangjie code, then choose the desired character from a pop‑up candidate list (候選字列表), as in this Quick Cangjie keyboard by Dozro. This greatly reduces the memorization burden compared to the full Cangjie method, making Quick Cangjie especially popular in Hong Kong and Macau, where it comes pre‑installed on most Traditional Chinese‑capable systems. On Windows 11, it appears as “Microsoft Quick” under Traditional Chinese Hong Kong SAR input settings, while on macOS it is available as the Sucheng input method. By striking a balance between accessibility and the ability to type the full range of Traditional Chinese characters, Quick Cangjie remains a key tool for efficient character entry in Cantonese‑speaking regions.
Boost Your Typing Speed with 快速倉頡 — The Smarter 倉頡輸入法 for Hong Kong Users
Compared to the traditional 倉頡輸入法, 快速倉頡 offers a faster learning curve and higher input speed by reducing the number of keystrokes required for each character. With fewer strokes to remember, users can enjoy the precision and versatility of 倉頡輸入法 while typing more efficiently — perfect for everyday communication, professional work, and anyone seeking to boost productivity without sacrificing accuracy.

Understanding the Keyboard Layout (理解鍵盤佈局)
Cangjie Radicals (倉頡字根)
Quick Cangjie is a shape-based system, not a phonetic one. This means it does not use diacritics, vowels, or special consonants. Instead, the letters A-Y are mapped to 24 fundamental Chinese character components (radicals). The Z
key is used for special characters. The keyboard keys display both the Chinese radical and the corresponding English letter.
Extended Punctuation on the Shift Layer
When the Cantonese keyboard is active, pressing the Shift key transforms the letter keys into a quick-access panel for common Chinese and full-width punctuation. This makes it easier and fast to type formal text.
The new symbols are arranged as follows:
Number Row (

Top Letter Row (

Translate Feature (廣東話同英文翻譯)
The virtual keyboard features a handy Translate button that allows you to swiftly translate your typed text.
How it Works:
Bilingual Text Translation: When the Cantonese keyboard is active, clicking the “Translate” button will convert text from Cantonese to English. Conversely, when the English keyboard is active, clicking “Translate” will convert text from English to Cantonese, using Google Translate.
Steps:
Type or voice-type any text into the main text area.
Click or tap the Translate button.
If the text area is empty, a temporary message "Type text first!" will appear, and no new tab will open.
If there is text in the text area, a new browser tab will automatically open, redirecting you to Google Translate.
Your typed text will be pre-filled into Google Translate's input field.
Google Translate will automatically detect the source language of your text.
The translation will be displayed in the automatically selected target language (English if Cantonese keyboard was active, Cantonese if English keyboard was active).
Important Note for Mobile Users:
On mobile devices with the Google Translate app, clicking "Translate" might open the installed app instead of the web page, and it may not pre-fill your text. To work around this, click "Copy" first to save your text, then "Translate," and paste it in the app. If you haven't installed the Google Translate app on your mobile phone, the Translate feature of our keyboard will work perfectly on mobile as intended.
Physical Keyboard Synchronization (用實體電腦鍵盤嘅按鍵輸入廣東話)
This virtual keyboard will synchronize with your physical keyboard using a computer. If you use the Shift or Caps Lock keys on your physical keyboard, the characters on the virtual keyboard will change accordingly. When you press an English letter on your physical keyboard, it will be converted into a Traditional Chinese character when using the Cantonese virtual keyboard.
Responsive Design (鍵盤可以喺電腦同手機上面用)
This virtual keyboard is designed to adapt to various screen sizes:
Desktop: You will see the full keyboard layout with all keys and labels. If your computer or laptop's physical keyboard isn't working, you can search for "Cantonese Keyboard Online by Dozro" or “廣東話快速倉頡鍵盤線上” using a search engine and use it to type with your mouse or touch.
Tablet: The layout will adjust slightly, and some English labels on Traditional Chinese keys might be hidden to save space.
Mobile: The layout becomes more compact, and some less-used keys (like Tab, Ctrl, Alt) are hidden to optimize for touch input. The action row and cursor row are also rearranged for better usability on smaller screens.
We hope this guide helps you make the most of your Cantonese Quick (Traditional Chinese)/English Virtual Keyboard!
