A Simple Guide to Using the Arabic (MSA)/English Virtual Keyboard (Standard Arabic (101) Layout)
Welcome! This guide will walk you through all the features of our dual-language virtual keyboard, designed to make Arabic typing and English composition simple and intuitive. This keyboard uses the standard Arabic (101) layout, familiar to millions of users. Whether you're on a desktop or a mobile device, you'll find all the tools you need for typing in English and Arabic right at your fingertips. This keyboard features voice typing in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
The Basics: What You See
When you load the keyboard, you'll see two main areas:
The Text Area: This is the large box at the top where your typed text appears.
The Virtual Keyboard: This is the interactive keyboard below the text area, with keys for letters, numbers, and special functions.
Core Features
Typing in Arabic and English
The keyboard defaults to the Arabic keyboard layout. Simply click or tap on the keys to type characters into the text area. The keys follow the standard Arabic (101) layout for easy and familiar typing.
Switching Languages
To switch between Arabic and English, simply click the Eng/عربي button.
When the keyboard is in Arabic mode, the button will show English.
When the keyboard is in English mode, the button will show عربي.
The text area's direction (RTL
for Arabic, LTR
for English) and the placeholder text will update automatically when you switch.
Using Shift and Caps Lock
Shift: Click the Shift key to access uppercase English letters or the secondary characters on the Arabic keys. This is especially useful for typing Arabic diacritics (Tashkeel), such as Fatha ( َ ), Damma ( ُ ), and Shadda ( ّ ), [Zer, Zabar], as well as regional currency symbols. The Shift key deactivates after one use.
Caps Lock: Click the Caps Lock key to type continuously in uppercase English. The key will light up to show it's active. Click it again to turn it off.
Powerful Action Buttons
The top rows of the keyboard contain powerful action buttons to enhance your typing experience.
Voice Typing (Speech-to-Text)
Click the Microphone (🎤) button to start voice typing.
Your browser may ask for permission to use your microphone. Please click "Allow".
The status message will show "Listening..." Start speaking clearly in either Arabic or English, depending on the active language.
Your spoken words will be converted into text and inserted into the text area. This speech-to-text feature is perfect for hands-free writing.
Click the microphone button again to stop listening.

Text Management Tools
Undo/Redo: Made a mistake? Use the Undo (↶) and Redo (↷) buttons to easily go back and forth between your recent changes.
Copy: Click the Copy button to copy all the text from the text area to your clipboard. A "Copied!" message will confirm it was successful.
Clear All: The Clear All button erases all text from the text area, giving you a clean slate.
Delete: The Delete button functions like a standard backspace key, deleting the character before the cursor.
Navigation and Emojis
Arrow Keys (← →): Use the arrow keys to move your cursor left or right within the text area.
Home/End: The Home and End keys instantly move your cursor to the beginning or end of the line.
Emoji Keyboard (😀): Want to add some personality? Click the smiley face icon to open a full emoji keyboard. Simply tap any emoji to insert it into your text. Click the "Keyboard" button to return to the main layout.
Translation
Need a quick translation?
Type your text in either Arabic or English.
Click the Translate button.
A new Google Translate tab will open with your text automatically translated to the other language.
